10-Day Real Food Challenge

It has been almost 9 weeks since I gave birth to sweet baby E.  In these past 9 weeks, I have lost little to none of the baby weight.  Or at least I feel like that.  It is time to do something.  I have been scared to do too much activity.  Mainly because I was on bed rest for 8 weeks and then recovering from a c section for 6 weeks.  Folks, that is 14 weeks of complete laziness and what can I say, I am scared I am going to fail.  I am so used to being able to get out the door and run for several miles, no problem.  Now, I get winded just walking to the mailbox.  Time to take a bite out of that humble pie and get over myself...

With that said, there is more to losing weight than just exercise.  A few ladies in my small group made a pledge to do the 10-day real food challenge.  Essentially, this just means no processed foods, 100% whole grains, and local produce.  I watched them succeed and really love this new why of life.  Therefore, I have decided to try my hand at it.  Today is day one.  Yesterday, I went and spent what seemed to be my life savings on organic produce at whole foods.  But, you know what?  That money was easily spent, I would rather pay more up front than be forced to pay medical bills due to poor health in the future.  So, here goes nothing!

Oh, and my sweet husband moved over an elliptical from my parents house on Saturday and my fridge is stocked with healthy organic produce and other goodies.  Praying for success and a desire to continue to engage in a healthy lifestyle!
